2005-2006
Production Manager
In my first role involving production, I managed and coordinated workshop activities to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery. Despite initial inexperience, I successfully reorganized the factory layout, optimizing the manufacturing critical path and implementing quick response manufacturing, which reduced total lead time by 8%. This achievement marked my first significant success as a Junior Engineer. I left the company due to its relocation from Porto to Southern Portugal.
2006-2009
Managing Director
Invited by ECA Global, a Bureau Veritas subsidiary, while studying at the university, I established and led the company’s Porto office. Responsible for hiring personnel, overseeing technical and commercial activities, and presenting monthly reports to the Directors board. Under my leadership, the team grew to 14 members, and we increased turnover by 30% annually, performing over 3,000 inspections per year by 2009, despite the subprime crisis. Concurrently, I completed my Master’s degree in a Post Laboral regime from 2006 to 2008.
2009-2013
Business Unit Coordinator
After the 2009 merger between ECA Global and Bureau Veritas, I transitioned to the role of Business Unit Coordinator. I continued leading my former ECA team and expanded my management scope to cover all Industry, Inspection, and Verification in Service department activities at Bureau Veritas. In addition to running the business unit, I served as GAS Technical Director, NDT inspector, PED Inspector, primary gas line inspector, welder qualifier, and provided metrology support for my Bureau Veritas colleagues.
2014
Third-Party Inspector
In 2014, I relocated to Luxembourg for family reasons and worked as a freelancer, conducting inspections and expediting activities for subcontractors in the Benelux and Germany regions. Most of these inspections were commissioned by Bureau Veritas – Antwerp.
Self employed – Luxembourg
